Dues Information

Do you qualify for reduced membership dues?

Making Membership Affordable
Society leadership works hard to control the cost of membership dues. They have developed a variety of dues credits available to qualified members to help keep membership affordable.

Successful lobbying efforts, patient advocacy, business support and timely communication. These are just a few examples of the value Wisconsin Medical Society (Society) members get from their dues dollars. And while these benefits make clear the value of Society membership, saving money is the icing on the cake. See if you qualify for one of these discounts.

Early pay credit
Regular members and part-time members are eligible for an early pay credit. Regular members who pay their dues in full prior to December 1 will receive a $40 credit. Part-time members who pay their dues in full before that time are eligible for a $20 credit.

New members
All physicians joining the Society for the first time or those renewing their membership after more than two years of lapsed membership will receive a 25% dues reduction. These members pay a total of $510 in membership dues.

Young physician dues category
Physicians in their first four years of practice benefit from the Society’s “Young Physician” dues category. This program provides significant reduction in membership dues for those physicians just completing their residency or government obligation following their residency.

For physicians who begin a fellowship either in conjunction with their residency, or immediately following completion of residency, their "first four years in practice" is based on the date they completed their fellowship. For physicians who begin a fellowship more than one year after completion of residency, their "first four years in practice" is based upon completion of their residency.

Two-physician family
If both husband and wife are paying Society members, and at least one physician is a regular member, the physician paying regular dues can receive a $60 discount from normal Society dues as long as the same mailing address is used. The Wisconsin Medical Journal and Medigram will be sent only to the spouse not receiving the $60 discount. Please make requests in writing to the membership department and list both names, the shared address and which member should receive the reduction.

Part-time physician
If you work part time, you may qualify for a 50% reduction in your dues. For more details and to find out if you qualify, contact the Membership Department at 800.762.8975 during normal business hours (M-F 8-4:30 CST) or e-mail membership@wismed.org.
