The Wisconsin Medical Society (Society) is committed to ensuring that all citizens receiving the right care at the right place, at a reasonable price. That’s why two issues are at the heart of the Society’s strategic plan: health insurance access and coverage and quality/clinical outcomes. By focusing our efforts on these key areas, we believe we can have the greatest impact on health care for all patients in Wisconsin.

Health Insurance Coverage and Access

Increase number of Wisconsin people who have adequate health insurance and ready access to medical services
Advocate for more sufficient Government financial support of its health care programs
Protect Wisconsin’s favorable medical liability climate
Increase percentage of health care dollar spent on patient care versus administrative costs
Advocate for the right distribution of physicians in specialties and location, based on patient need

Quality/Clinical Outcomes

Ensure that all physicians understand and can participate in national and state quality efforts
Lead the practice of patient-centered medical care in Wisconsin
Support patient safety efforts in hospital and ambulatory settings
Improve Wisconsin population health
